Nebenzia Refutes Claims of Abrams Who Called Venezuela Satellite of Russia

Unlike the United States, Russia has no satellite states, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said on Saturday, refuting claims of the US envoy on Venezuela

UNITED NATIONS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th January, 2019) Unlike the United States, Russia has no satellite states, Russian Ambassador to the United Nations Vassily Nebenzia said on Saturday, refuting claims of the US envoy on Venezuela.

Earlier in the day, newly appointed US Special Envoy for Venezuela Elliott Abrams told the UN Security Council that Venezuela was a satellite country of Cuba and Russia.

"Unlike the US, Russia has no satellites. Venezuela is not a satellite of Russia, Cuba is not our satellite state. We do not even use that kind of terminology ... in our foreign policy, our diplomacy," Nebenzia said.
