US House Passes Short-Term Spending Bill To End Shutdown, Heads To Trump For Signature

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th January, 2019) The House of Representatives has passed a short-term spending bill to reopen the government after a record 35-day shutdown, the longest in US history.

The House unanimously passed a measure on Friday to temporarily reopen the Federal government.

Earlier on Friday, US President Donald Trump and congressional leaders reached an agreement to end the shutdown by reopening the government for three weeks of negotiations, in which Democrats and Republican will attempt to resolve differences over the president's demand for money to build a wall on the US-Mexico border.
