Moscow, Havana to Sign Deals on Revamping Cuba's Infrastructure Friday - Senior Official

Russia and Cuba on Friday will seal a number of agreements on bilateral cooperation, which will primarily focus on modernizing Cuba's infrastructure, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said at the meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Ricardo Cabrisas

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th January, 2019) Russia and Cuba on Friday will seal a number of agreements on bilateral cooperation, which will primarily focus on modernizing Cuba's infrastructure, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said at the meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Ricardo Cabrisas.

Borisov and Cabrisas will co-chair a meeting of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow later on Friday. The sides are set to discuss cooperation related to revamping railroad transportation, restoring the airworthiness of air fleet and upgrading Cuba's energy sector and nickel factory.

"We feel the main task of today's meeting is to reach specific agreements on the most pressing issues regarding trade and economic cooperation. Moreover, during today's meeting we will sign a final act of the 16th meeting of the intergovernmental commission and a number of documents aimed at developing Russian-Cuban relations," Borisov said.

The 16th session of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission was held on October 29-30 in the Cuban capital of Havana.
