Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said Thursday that he had tasked the lower house's security committee to invite a Google representative to discuss the company's showing Crimea as territory of Ukraine on Google Maps in violation of the Russian constitution
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said Thursday that he had tasked the lower house's security committee to invite a Google representative to discuss the company's showing Crimea as territory of Ukraine on Google Maps in violation of the Russian constitution.
"Google shows Crimea on its maps as the territory of another country, but today it is the territory of Russia. This is a violation of our constitution, a violation of our laws. Therefore, it would be right for the security committee to invite a Google representative, state our position and then make a decision," the speaker said at a plenary session.
