University of Agriculture Faisalabad PhD club jumps to 1753

The number of PhD club of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has swelled to 1753 with the award of PhD degrees to 11 more scholars including 4 females

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jan, 2019 ) :):The number of PhD club of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has swelled to 1753 with the award of PhD degrees to 11 more scholars including 4 females.

A spokesman of the university told APP here Wednesday that on the recommendations of the external examiners and after fulfilling all requirements, the Vice Chancellor UAF issued directives to issue PhD degrees to 6 scholars who have passed their final examinations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) 2018.

Among these scholars include Syed Mohsin Abbas s/o Syed Natiq Hussain Shah from the Department of Agronomy, Ahsan Naveed s/o Anjum Naveed and Muhammad Adnan Ashraf s/o Muhammad Ashraf from the Institute of Microbiology, Muhammad Wasim Haider s/o Jaffar Hussain Khan from the Institute of Horticultural Sciences, Azka Javaid d/o Muhammad Javaid Munawar from the Department of Botany, Muhammad Ijaz Saleem s/o Muhammad Saleem from the Department of Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Farah Ahmad d/o Chaudhary Ahmad Deen from National Institute of food Science and Technology, Muhammad Imran s/o Muhammad Asghar Ali from the Department of Parasitology, Maham Saddique d/o Muhammad Saddique from the Department of Botany, Muhammad Asif Farooq s/o Nazir Ahmad from the Department of Entomology, Rebia Ejaz d/o Ejaz Hussain from National Institute of Food Science and Technology.

The titles of their thesis were 'Effect of salicylic acid on bioproductivity and drought tolerance potential of marigold (Tagetes erecta)', 'Study on the immunoprophylactic potential of anti-idiotype foot-and-mouth disease vaccine,' 'Effect of site-directed mutagenesis on the efficiency of the amylase gene of Bacillus licheniformis,' 'Management strategies for breaking tuber dormancy in potato (Solanum tuberosum L.),' 'Development and biochemical changes in maize embryonic tissues under cadmium (Cd) toxicity and mitigation strategies to circumvent Cd damage,' 'Mastitis in indigenous dairy breeds of goat in selected districts of Punjab, Pakistan: (I) epidemiology, and (II) evaluation of a polyvalent mastitis vaccine,' 'Biochemical, functional and end use perspectives of modified cereal brans,' 'Comparative susceptibility of Dera Din Pannah and Nachi goat breeds of district Muzaffargarh, Pakistan to gastrointestinal parasites with special reference to Haemonchus contortus,' 'Response of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) to exogenously applied alpha tocopherol under drought stress conditions,' 'Screening, quantification and IPM based mitigation of pesticide residues in major marketed fruits in Punjab, Pakistan' and 'Safety and quality assessment of Pakistani rice cultivars,' respectively, he added.
