THAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :Tharparkar Wildlife In-Charge Ashfaq Ali Memon here on Tuesday expressed that a committee has been constituted to prevent the illegal hunting and will take stern action against the involved hunters.
He said that some elements involved in hunting of rare species in the Tehsil Nangar Parkar of Tharparkar district, The employees of Wildlife department were also involved in supporting influential people for illegal hunting in the outskirt area of jungle of Adhegam village where they were doing illegal hunting rare species of animal included Nilgai, deer, rabbit, and special species of birds.
Ashfaq Ali Memon said that importance of wildlife cannot be ignored, while the wealth of wildlife was a salient feature of Thar.
He said the Thar Desert forms a natural boundary between India and Pakistan. In Pakistan, it covers about 20,000 square kilometers, he said and adding that in 'Thar precious wildlife, including Nilgai, deer, peacock, antelope, rabbit, partridge, sand viper, Egyptian vulture, flamingo, Jungle lizard, monitor lizard and sand grouse etc are now endangered species.
