CJP Khosa releases three accused on life sentence after eight years

A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by CJP Khosa held the hearing on abduction case on Tuesday.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 22nd January, 2019) Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa has released three accused who were awarded life sentence.

A three-member Supreme Court bench headed by CJP Khosa held the hearing on abduction case on Tuesday.

During the hearing, the CJP remarked, “The witnesses should not demand justice if they are afraid to testify.”

He quoted a saying of Allah, “Be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives.”

The CJP said the abducted were not recovered by police while he was not included in the investigation even after six months of his release.

Giving the accused a benefit of doubt, the CJP suspended their life sentence and ordered their release.

Justice Khosa further remarked that the police threatens, we have many unknown cases. We can add this one too.

To this, the counsel for accused Asad Ali said, “People are afraid of testifying for the accused.”

The CJP then said, “If you are afraid then don’t ask for justice.”

The accused were released after eight years.
