Agriculture, Livestock Sectors Key For Province's Economy: Tariq Magsi

Balochistan Minister for Irrigation Nawabzada Tariq Magsi Monday said Agriculture and Livestock sectors have backbone of the province's economy which were being focused to improve for ensuring the development
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Balochistan unemployment Veterinary Doctors Association (VDA) led by Its president Dr. Hamayun called on him at his office, said a press release issued here.
Nawabzada Tariq Magsi said the provincial government under the leadership of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal Khan was taking all possible steps to provide employment to veterinary doctors for promotion of livestock sector which was also affected by drought for long time in Balochistan.
He said most of the people in the province were dependent on livestock and agriculture, adding that that measure were underway to create employment opportunities for educated people.
The delegation also informed the minister about problems faced by poor doctors due to unemployment and told him that numbers of doctors were unemployed from long period in the respective areas of the province.
They demanded the provincial minister for their recruitment on on vacant seats which was also announced recently by provincial government. The delegation also demanded for ending quota system and to ensure open merit for recruitments of veterinary doctors.
Nawabzada Tariq Magsi assured the delegation that transparency and merit would be ensured during recruitments for betterment of sectors.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Minister for Transport Mir Umar Khan Jamali met Nawabazada Tariq Magsi in another meeting. Both the ministers discussed the overall situation of province including current situation of water in Khar Thar Canal.
Secretary Irrigation Saeed Awan and Secretary Communication Ali Akbar Baloch were also present on the occasion.
