New EU Sanctions Over Salisbury Prove Europe's Solidarity With UK -Senior Russian Lawmaker

The new sanctions imposed by the EU Council over the alleged use of chemical weapons in Salisbury show that Brussels expresses solidarity with London and are used as a substitute for lack of proof, the chair of the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, Konstantin Kosachev, told Sputnik Monday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st January, 2019) The new sanctions imposed by the EU Council over the alleged use of chemical weapons in Salisbury show that Brussels expresses solidarity with London and are used as a substitute for lack of proof, the chair of the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee, Konstantin Kosachev, told Sputnik Monday.

Earlier in the day, the EU Council sanctioned Russia's GRU top officials over Salisbury incident.

"The European Union is demonstrating Euro-solidarity, which substitutes lack of evidence. It is strange that this Euro-solidarity is now showing up in relation to the European Union that is leaving the European Union with a scandal and leaving the union alone with the Salisbury incident," Kosachev said.
