Provincial Minister For Industry & Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal Reviews Commodities Prices

Provincial Minister for Industry & Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal here Saturday chaired a meeting of Price Control Committee (PCC) to review prices of essential commodities and their demand and supply situation
On this occasion, he directed the quarters concerned to keep an eye on the supply and prices of essential items in Model and Sunday bazaars throughout the province. He warned that profiteering would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those involved in artificial price hike.
He said that only the Magistrate would visit market to check prices of essential items while a member of PCC would accompany him.
He ordered for taking effective measures on bogus challans of shopkeepers, and a system be evoloved to ensure deposit of fine money in the banks only. He asked the PCC members to maintain constant liaison with respective the district administration.
Mian Aslam said that the government was providing subsidy of billions of rupees on sugar to the masses and directed for sale of sugar at fixed rate. He also directed to activate market committees and announced to hold monthly PCC meeting.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner, PCC members, trade bodies' representatives and officers concerned attended the meeting.
