First Manned Flight to ISS This Year May Be Postponed - Roscosmos Chief Rogozin

The first manned flight to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 may take place later than planned, Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin told reporters Friday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) The first manned flight to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 may take place later than planned, Russian State Space Corporation Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin told reporters Friday.

The flight was previously scheduled for March 1.

"I would like to say that probably, jointly with the Americans, it will be moved to a more acceptable date," Rogozin said.

He said if the launch was postponed, the crew could stay in orbit longer than six months.

Rogozin said he would probably meet with NASA chief Jim Bridenstine when the latter came to the Baikonur space center to watch one of the launches to the ISS, adding that the launch could take place not in March but in April.
