APHC leaders, activists hold protests in Hyderpora

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2019 ) :All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders and activists held peaceful protests after congregational Friday prayers at Hyderpora in Srinagar against the prolonged detention and the ill-treatment meted out to the Hurriyat leaders especially deteriorating health condition of Hurriyat leader Peer Saifullah in Tihar jail.

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) , APHC leaders and activists including Abdul Ahad Parra, Bilal Sidiqui, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani, Syed Imtiyaz Hyder, Mohammad Yasin Ataie, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Khawaja Firdous, Mohammad Maqbool Magami, Arshid Aziz, Mubashir Iqbal, Showkat Ahmad Khan, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Rameez Raja, Abdul Hameed Elahi and Abdul Rashid Lone organized a peaceful protest at Hyderpora in Srinagar against the inhuman attitude meted out towards the political prisoners in and outside the territory especially in Tihar Jail.

Hurriyat leaders, condemning the prolong detention of political prisoners, called it as an extreme vandalism and coercion, which depicts a martial law-like situation and said that suppressing even the pro-freedom voice and curbing the peaceful activities is no bravery but shameful and cunning acts.

Meanwhile, unknown person Friday hurled a grenade at a camp of Special Operations Group of police in Shopian district.The grenade was lobbed at the SOG camp in Gagren village of the district.

This was second grenade attack of the day as earlier a grenade was hurled on India's paramilitary Centre ReservePolice Force party in Srinagar city. The grenade exploded near a CRPF vehicle manning Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk areaof the Srinagar city. As per reports, the explosion caused minor damages to nearby shops.
