ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2019 ) :In occupied Kashmir, illegally detained Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League (JKML), Masarat Aalam Butt was produced before a court in Srinagar in a fake case and shifted back to Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a JKML spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the next hearing of the case has been scheduled on January 30.
He said Masarat Aalam Butt has been languishing in jails since long, however, it is quite disheartening that he is being subjected to vengeance by the authorities. He is the worst victim of political vendetta and is denied political space under a well-planned conspiracy, the spokesman added.
He urged the United Nations, OIC, Human Rights Council, Red Cross, Amnesty International and other human rights bodies to come forward and take cognizance of the illegal detention of Masarat Aalam and get him released.
He said the administration has made its mind to place Masarat Aalam behind bars and it is using draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) and other baseless charges as a tool otherwise courts have repeatedly quashed his detention and directed his release but the authorities are adamant on placing him in far off jails He said putting Masarat Aalam in jails on concocted charges and slapping PSA repeatedly on him to prolong his illegal detention is nothing but a travesty of Justice and democracy.
He said the continued illegal detention of Masarat Aalam depicts frustration of the authorities. "The unjustified detention won't cow down our spirits," he vowed.
