Russia Fulfilled All WADA's Requirements on Moscow Lab - Sports Minister

Russia fulfilled all requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regarding the transfer of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory database in accordance with the existing agreements, Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov said on Friday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) Russia fulfilled all requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regarding the transfer of the Moscow anti-doping laboratory database in accordance with the existing agreements, Russian sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov said on Friday.

On September 20, the WADA Executive Committee voted to reinstate Russia's anti-doping agency RUSADA as compliant with the agency's code following a doping scandal and required Russia to provide access to the data and samples of Moscow anti-doping laboratory. On Thursday, WADA said that its experts had successfully completed the work to collect the Moscow laboratory's database.

"The latest visit of WADA experts took place on a busy schedule. Extensive work was carried out in cooperation with all interested parties, including the Investigative Committee of Russia ... The Russian Ministry of Sport, for its part, provided maximum assistance in resolving all issues related to data copying. Now I can confidently say that we have fulfilled all the requirements of WADA in accordance with our agreements and in accordance with the criminal procedure code of Russia," Kolobkov said as quoted by the ministry's press service.

"I am convinced that the data obtained will help to achieve the truth in the interests of 'clean' sport," the minister stressed.
