Bridge Between Russia's Blagoveshchensk, China's Heihe To Open In Spring 2020 - Official

BLAGOVESHCHENSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) A bridge across the Amur River connecting the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk and China's Heihe will open in spring 2020, Vasily Orlov, the governor of Russia's Amur Region, said on Friday.

The regional authorities has said earlier that the bridge would open in December 2019.

"According to the plan, the construction of the bridge will be completed at the end of 2019 and it will open in the spring of 2020. A permanent checkpoint will be established in the summer [of 2020]," Orlov said.

The construction of the bridge started in December 2016, with Russia investing 14 billion rubles (roughly $211 million) and China providing 5.2 billion rubles.
