Belarusian President To Hold Talks With Zimbabwean Counterpart In Minsk On Thursday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th January, 2019) Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will hold on Thursday negotiations with his Zimbabwean counterpart Emmerson Mnangagwa at the Independence Palace in Minsk.

According to the Belarusian presidential office, the two leaders will discuss the development of political and economic contacts between their countries and will also touch upon the prospects for bilateral cooperation, in particular, in trade and investment. The implementation of joint projects will also be on the talks' agenda.

The negotiations are expected to conclude with the signing of a number of international agreements.

Mnangagwa met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. Later that same day, the two countries signed a license agreement on mining as part of a joint project to develop the Darwendale platinum deposit in Zimbabwe as well as an agreement to mutually protect intellectual property within defense industry cooperation, among others.
