KP Govt To Expedite Developmental Activities In Merged Tribal Districts: Shaukat Yousafzai

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government Wednesday decided to expedite development of tribal districts and in this connection timeline of three months has been set for execution of all schemes to ensure early implementation of projects
The decision has been taken at a high level meeting held here with Governor KP, Shah Farman Khan in chair, said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shaukat Yousafzai while addressing a press briefing.
Chief Minister KP, Mehmood Khan, Advisor to Prime Minister on Establishment, Arbab Shezad, Provincial Minister and Secretaries also attended the meeting.
Giving details about the meeting, Shaukat Yousafzai said it has been decided to fill 15000 vacant posts within three months.
Among these 15000 posts, 6000 are in Police department and remaining in other departments.
All provincial departments have been asked to intimate about available vacant posts so that appointment should be completed within stipulated period.
Information Minister said KP govt is ready to hold Local Bodies elections in the merged districts.
In the first phase the local government elections would be held in tribal districts for which the government is all set to hold, he went on to say. While in second phase general elections would be held, he added.
Government has made all preparations in regard with holding of LG polls and the Election Commission of Pakistan would be asked to decide a date for holding of elections.
He said that in the meeting it was decided to education and health sectors in the newly merged tribal districts with several initiatives to be taken soon.
Initially all the closed schools in the merged districts would be re-opened and made functional within 2 to 3 months while the missing facilities would also be made available there.
He said that Independent Monitoring Units (IMU) have started working in the merged districts to ascertain missing facilities at schools besides ensuring presences of teachers.
Referring to health sector in merged district, he said that health services in as many as 25 Tehsils would be up-graded, a mechanism would be developed for availability of doctors and paramedics as well as medicines at the hospitals round the clock.
The facility of Sehat Insaf Card will be provided to five hundred thousands families in FATA from January 31, Shaukat continued.
Information Minister also held out assurance that no discrimination would be made on issuance of Sehat Insaf card and the facility would be provided on merit basis.
The hospital administrations have been directed to ensure provision of emergency medicines in all the tribal districts so that people could not face any problem in getting treatment.
He said in the month of February 2019 sports Gala would be arranged in tribal districts to provide re-creational facilities to tribal people.
Similarly, cultural activities would be started soon in tribal districts by holding of different programmes in different areas.
Shaukat Yousafzai said the government would provide interest-free loans to tribal youth to make themself-dependent.
In response to funds for carrying out developmental activities in tribal districts, Shaukat Yousafzai said a tranche of Rs. 25 billion has been sent from centre to KP and the expense will be borne by Federal government.
