ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jan, 2019 ) :Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has provided 73 wheel chairs to deserving persons in last five months, Minister In Charge of the Cabinet Division Ali Muhammad Khan told National Assembly.

In a written reply to the question of Syed Mehmood Shah, he said PBM provided wheel chairs to the disable applicants having income upto Rs 15,000 per month.

Giving details of wheel chairs provided since August 2018, 12 wheel chairs were provided to deserving persons of Rawalpindi, nine wheelchairs were provided to people of Pishin, four to Abbottabad, five to people hailing from Islamabad while three wheelchairs each were provided to deserving persons of Mianwali, Swat, Charsadda and two each to people hailing from Gilgit, Attock, Kotli, Noshehra, Hatian Bala, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Lower Dir, Hyderabad and Mirpur Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

One each wheelchair was provided to the deserving persons of Swabi, Sadhnoti, Mardan, Bahawalpur,Layyah, Multan, Karachi, Jafarabad, DG Khan, Lahore, Faisalabad, Bannu, Khoshab and Narowal.

Regarding procedure of getting wheel chairs, he said, an applicant should submit application on prescribed proforma supported by copy of valid Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC), photograph (showing disability) and disability certificate.

Wheel chair is issued after approval of the competent authority.

Responding to the question of Syed Mehmood Shah, he said PBM also provided various kinds of assistances to the deserving including Individual Financial Assistance (Medical, education, Special Family Projects and General Assistance).

In a written reply to another question of Syed Agha Rafiullah, he said as many as 92 applications for financial assistance had been received from District Pishin, Balochistan from December 1, 2017 to November 30, 2018.
