KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :The Sindh government has sought the cooperation of Federal government institutions by providing vaccines to cope with dog-bite and snake-bite cases in the province, which were short in the market.

Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, in a press statement Tuesday, said they had approached the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) for the purpose.

Dr Azra said it was alarming that some 167,381 cases of dog-bite were reported across the province during the period from January to November 2018.

She said the local governments, commissioners and deputy commissioners had been directed to get the stray dogs killed, which would help reduce the dog-bite cases. It was imperative for all the institutions be on the same page to cope with the situation, she said, adding the Sindh Health Department was also making all-out efforts in that regard.
