LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2019 ) :Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai Tuesday said that all avenues for expense curtailment and resource generation should be explored.

He expressed these views while addressing the austerity committee's fifth meeting at the Committee Room of Finance Department, Civil Secretariat here.

Provincial Minister for Finance Makhdum Hashim Jawan Bakht, Secretary Finance Sheikh Hamid Yaqoob, Secretary C&W Sheharyar Sultan and representatives from other concerned departments also attended the meeting.

Sardar Asif Nakai said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had taken the lead and imposed the restrictions on discretionary grants, luxury vehicles, protocol and unnecessary staff.

Likewise, the Punjab government has also adopted the austerity policy in order to lessen the burden on the provincial economy, he added.

Different agendas of Livestock Department, Home Department, Higher education Department and other departments were discussed at length and after careful consideration the committee approved them as well.
