MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th January, 2019) The 10th Gaidar Forum will be held on January 15-17 in Moscow at the Russian Presidential academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).

The event dubbed "Russia and the World: National Development Goals and Global Trends" will touch upon the features of doing business in Russia, business education, issues of digitalization and the impact of technology on a wide variety of fields, issues related to regional policy and public administration, and many others.

The Gaidar Forum is an annual international conference in the field of economics. The event has been held since 2010. It brings together the world's leading scientists and politicians, experts, representatives of the financial community and the global business elite.

The Gaidar Forum is organized by RANEPA, the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (Gaidar Institute) and the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR).

The participation in the forum gives insight into future prospects of economic growth and integration of Russia into the global economy. For foreign guests, the event is an important source of information about the main trends in Russian social, economic and political development and about the status of its business environment.

The first conference "Russia and the World: Challenges of the New Decade," organized in memory of former Russian Prime Minister Yegor Gaidar, was held on January 21-23, 2010. Leading experts debated on key trends in the global economy at the time of global instability.

The second conference "Russia and the World: In Search of an Innovative Strategy" was held in Moscow on January 16-19, 2011, and brought together over 100 international experts. The major topics of discussion were the institutional foundation of innovation-driven economy, new requirements to political institutions and related financial policies, social challenges of modernization, regional models of innovative development, and search for areas of innovative growth.

The third Gaidar Forum, titled "Russia and the World: 2012-2020," was held on January 18-21, 2012. The attention of expert discussions was focused on revising Russia's social and economic development until 2020. The forum's discussion platforms gathered more than 2,000 Russian and foreign participants.

The fourth Gaidar Forum named "Russia and the World: Challenges of Integration" was held on January 16-19, 2013. Its main topic was the integration of the Russian economy into the global economy, improvement of the business climate, and the prospects for Russian companies on the international market. More than 3,500 people and over 250 experts from 38 countries attended the forum.

The fifth forum was dedicated to the problem of sustainable development and was held from January 15 to January 18, 2014. The conference dubbed "Russia and the World: Sustainable Development" discussed economic growth in the context of global changes, risks of innovative entrepreneurship, new industrialization and others.

The 2015 Gaidar Forum dubbed "Russia and the World: New Dimension" was held on January 14-16. Particular attention was paid to the analysis of the contours of the multipolar world, including issues of financial, economic and social policy, business environment and regional development. For the first time, the conference agenda included issues of liberal reforms in China and new vectors for the development of the Arctic.

The seventh forum "Russia and the World: Looking to the Future" was held on January 13-15, 2016. The experts discussed future prospects for social and economic development of the country, taking into account new challenges. The event was attended by 7,500 people, including 18 heads of Russian regions, 37 directors and heads of Russian and foreign corporations, 69 foreign professors from the leading universities of the world, and 174 diplomats. A record-breaking number of Russian and foreign media members - 1,350 - got accredited for the forum. Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos was among the honorary foreign guests of the forum.

The eighth forum "Russia and the World: Setting Priorities" took place from January 12 to January 14, 2017. The program of the forum traditionally included discussions of the economic situation in Russia and in the world, social development, priority goals for the development of healthcare, education, innovation, public administration, small and medium-sized businesses, tax policy and the development of territories.

The program also included discussions of today's acute problems: Europe after Brexit, investment attraction under sanctions, the Global Energy Market in new conditions, ecology, priority projects as a factor of economic growth, banking sector sustainability, and new regional policy. The forum was attended by more than 9,000 people, including 1,350 representatives of Russian and foreign media and 875 experts. Over 150,000 people were watching the broadcasts of the forum.

The 2018 Gaidar Forum "Russia and the World: Values and Virtues" was the 9th one and was held in Moscow on January 16-18. The participants discussed contemporary challenges for public administration, implementation of project management in the public authorities, drivers of innovation development, new challenges for central banks, digital society, sanctions, the 100th anniversary of the Russian revolution, barriers and success factors for entrepreneurship in Russia and cluster approach in the age of digital production.

The event was attended by 8,750 people, 620 experts and more than 1,760 representatives of Russian and foreign media. Another 165,000 people watched the broadcast online.
