At least 20 people were injured in a blast that tore through a bakery in Paris on Saturday morning, local media reported

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th January, 2019) At least 20 people were injured in a blast that tore through a bakery in Paris on Saturday morning, local media reported.

Two cases were classified as "extremely urgent," sources told Le Figaro newspaper. Seven people were seriously hurt and 11 received light injuries.

Additionally, three firefighters were injured. French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said around 200 firefighters were involved in the operation to put out the flame.

Castaner confirmed that the explosion was caused by a natural gas leak, adding "the human toll is serious."

The interior chief arrived at the scene of the blast alongside Prime Minister Edouard Philippe and Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. An emergency meeting was held at the Interior Ministry.
