Standing Committees Formation To Be Finalized In Upcoming NA Session: Asad

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jan, 2019 ) :Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser Friday said the matters regarding formation of Standing Committees of the National Assembly would be finalized by the upcoming session of the House.
All relevant rules providing for formation of standing committees would be applied to ensure running the parliamentary system smoothly, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said he had received four bills from the government side for legislation which would be presented in the next session." The NA Speaker said quality and exemplary legislation would be ensured to provide relief to the masses. He said he was giving equal opportunities to ruling and opposition members to speak on national issues in the Assembly.
Asad Qaiser said holding debate and evolving consensus was part of the legislation process. He urged the opposition to refrain from carrying out the politics of mere criticism and confrontation.
He urged the opposition to play its due role in legislation and stated that he held meeting with Pakistan People's Party MNA Syed Khursheed Shah and discussed matters pertaining to the legislation.
He said it was collectively responsibly of both the government and opposition for making environment of the Assembly favourable for legislation and also maintain its dignity.
The NA Speaker said he would resolve the reservations of the members on the issues concerning legislation. We would develop a mechanism of public hearing in the committees to get input from experts and the people, he said.
Qaiser said he would meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNAs as well to ensure good environment of the House.
He said it was right of every member to talk on national issues in the House and called for debate on economic crisis and other issues to trace out solution.
To a question, Asad Qaiser assured that Prime Minister Imran Khan would bring change in the country, who had been working hard and holding meetings with different leaders for betterment and development of the country.
He said good governance would be ensured in the country to streamline the system and purge the country of corruption.
To another query, he said that Assembly had adopted austerity measures to control the expenditures.
