Seven IS Militants Killed In Foreign Strike In Eastern Afghanistan - Reports

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th January, 2019) As many as seven militants from the Islamic State terrorist group (IS, banned in Russia) have been killed in a foreign airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province, local media reported on Friday citing officials.

The same number of militants from the Taliban movement were detained during a raid carried out by Afghan forces in the province, according to the Pajhwok news agency.

They were involved in subversive activities in several provincial districts, the agency said.

Afghanistan has long been destabilized by the conflict between the Taliban and the Afghan government, exacerbated by the activities of various terrorist groups, including the IS.

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces supported by the US-led coalition have been conducting joint operations to combat terrorism across the country.
