School Vans Will Not Be Allowed With Gas Cylinders; Commissioner Karachi

Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani on Friday said that prevailing law for the school vans must be implemented
Presiding over a meeting at his office in this connection, he said that use of gas cylinders in school vans has been prohibited, no vans would be allowed with gas cylinders.
The Commissioner said that availability of firefighting and other safety related equipments must be ensured in the school vans.
The meeting decided to specify the yellow colour for school vans and give one month to the owners of school vans/buses to ensure implementation of the laws.
Iftikhar Shalwani said that lives of children could not be put in danger. He appealed to the parents to cooperate with the agencies concerned.
The meeting was attended by DIGP Traffic, officials of education, Transport and other departments concerned.
