Sindh Excise Dept Recovers Rs 36482 Mln In 6 Months: Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla

Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that during current fiscal year Sindh Excise Department has recovered Rs. 36482.454 millions from July to December 2018
Presiding over a meeting here in his office here on Friday, the Minister said that about Rs 30003.738 millions were collected during July to December 2017, said a statement.
Secretary Sindh Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Abdul Rahim Shaikh, Director General Excise and Taxation Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh and other directors also attended the meeting.
While briefing the meeting, Director General Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh told that Rs 3542.
790 millions were recovered in term of Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs. 28579.517 millions in Infrastructure Cess and Rs. 247.384 millions in professional tax were recovered.
He added, "Rs. 146.496 millions in Cotton fee, Rs. 1375.132 millions in property tax and Rs. 32.039 millions in term of Entertainment Duty while remaining amount was recovered in terms of various taxes".
The Minister asked the officers to work harder and bring improvement in collection of property tax.
He also expressed his satisfaction over total recovery of the taxes and asked the officers to issue computerazied challans instead of manual challans for property tax.
