DAMASCUS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th January, 2019) A delegation of Syrian businessmen will pay a visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) starting on January 19, Abdul Rahim Rahal, a member of the council of the Association of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce, told Sputnik on Friday."The delegation will comprise 24 Syrian businessmen, and will be headed by Secretary General of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce Muhammad Hamsho, as well as the prominent economists representing chambers of commerce and industry of Syrian provinces," Rahal said, adding that the visit will last for two days.
In December, the UAE reopened its embassy in Damascus after a six-year break.
Syria was suspended from the Arab League and most Arab states closed their embassies in Damascus shortly after the Syrian civil war erupted in 2011.
