Rakesh is taking on the disease in ‘full spirit’.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 9th January, 2019) Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has revealed that his father and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early stage throat cancer.

Hrithik shared a picture with his father and said he asked his dad for a picture this morning just before he had to go for his surgery.
“Knew he wouldn’t miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. love you Dad,” the actor wrote.
Soon after Hrithik broke the news on social media, wishes came in from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and members of the film fraternity.
"Dear Hrithik, praying for the good health of Shri Rakesh Roshanji. He is a fighter and I am sure he will face this challenge with utmost courage," the Indian prime minister wrote.
Hrithik thanked him for his wishes and also said that his father’s surgery went well.
Rakesh Roshan is a renowned Bollywood actor and director.
He started his career as an actor in 1970 film Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani and shot to fame with films like Buniyaad, Kaamchor and Khoobsurat. Following these, he made his debut as a director in 1987 with Khudgarz and went on to make films like Khoon Bhari Maang, Koyala and Karan Arjun.
In 2000, he launched his son Hrithik with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai opposite Ameesha Patel. Together the father-son duo created magic on screen with Koi Mil Gaya and the Krrish series.
