London's Heathrow international airport has halted departure flights as a precaution after a drone was spotted there, the airport's press service said Tuesday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th January, 2019) London's Heathrow international airport has halted departure flights as a precaution after a drone was spotted there, the airport's press service said Tuesday."We are responding to a drone sighting at Heathrow and are working closely with the Met Police to prevent any threat to operational safety. As a precautionary measure, we have stopped departures while we investigate. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause," the statement on Twitter reads.
Earlier in January, UK's two busiest airports, Gatwick and Heathrow, reportedly ordered military-grade technology to ward off drones after they disrupted a thousand flights in December.
