Pakistan to see prolonged winters this year

According to Met Department, the northern areas will receive more than usual rainfall from March till July, 2019.

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 5th January, 2018) Pakistan will see a prolonged winter season this year.

The meteorological department has predicted that the winters will stay longer in the country this year.

According to weather experts, the northern areas will receive more than usual rainfall from March till July, 2019.

The process of rain will continue for three months in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

The Met department predicted that fog will continue to engulf plain areas of Punjab, Peshawar and Hazara Division due to low temperature. It said mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.

The snowfall in northern areas of Pakistan including Murree, Naran and Swat has turned weather cold. Moreover, more snowfall is also predicted for KP, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir this year. South Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh will receive normal rain.

Kalam, Hazara, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan have also received snowfall. The tourists have started reaching these places to enjoy the chilly weather.

Light rain with snowfall over the hills is also expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir over the weekend.
