Members from intelligence agencies in the JIT have started collecting background data for the fresh investigation.
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 5th January, 2018) The intelligence agencies have been actively involved in the investigation of the Model Town Case.
According to details, members of the new Joint Investigation Team, formed to investigate the Model Town carnage, have been actively involved in investigating the case and have started collecting information related to the case.
According to a news report published in a local newspaper, government sources informed about the progress regarding the new JIT in Model Town case. Sources said that the members from intelligence agencies in the JIT have started collecting background data for the fresh investigation.
The members from intelligence agencies are also collecting records of witnesses related to the incident and lists of police personnel deployed at the scene have also been sought.
After JIT's first meeting, members of intelligence agencies will interview the eyewitnesses and policemen posted on the day so that Pakistan Awami Tehreek workers can get justice.
According to the report, the JIT members will also review the previous JIT report to determine where facts of the incident were distorted due to which the justice could not be delivered.
Security officials related to the investigation team said that former Punjab Chief Minister, former Law Minister, IG Punjab, Secretary to Chief Minister and other officers connected to the incident will be interrogated once the investigation begins.
