"Several people were killed as a result of a train accident at the Big Belt Bridge. The bridge is closed," the police tweeted.
The press service of Danish railway company DSB earlier told the DR broadcaster that the accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. (6:30 GMT) due to the train's heavy braking after a collision with an unknown object.
