BEIJING (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 31st December, 2018) Chinese non-manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) accelerated to 53.8 in December from 53.4 last month, indicating the health of the country's services sector, the country's National Bureau of Statistics reported on Monday.
Analysts expected non-manufacturing PMI to slow to 53.2. PMI above 50 indicates an increase in activity, while index value below 50 indicates a decline.
The Chinese government supports services sector to offset the slowdown in heavy industry.
