ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 30th Dec, 2018) Abu Dhabi General Services Company, Musanada, has completed 64 percent of the Al Ghuwaifat Border Post Rehabilitation Project in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the General Authority for the Security Ports, the General Directorate of Customs and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
The AED149.7-million project, extending over a total area of 350K square metres, is set to be completed during the first quarter of 2019.
"Abu Dhabi Police is keen on developing its services to ensure optimal service delivery serving customers with satisfaction whether in the Al Ghuwaifat border post or across all the police and security locations throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi," said Major General Maktoum Ali Al Sharifi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Police.
He highlighted the need to gear up development and improvement efforts at Al Ghuwaifat border post by adopting best suggestions to uplift the efficiency level and practicality of the border post’s functioning in a way that will demonstrate an excellent level of police services.
He added that projects development constructed for Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and the relevant government entities reflects the care and attention of our visionary leadership towards providing best services and capabilities to boost the development process witnessed by the UAE at all levels, as part of constant efforts to establish and promote safety, security and ensure customer satisfaction, besides the continuous directions to deliver best services that will reach to the satisfaction of the public.
He further indicated that the project aims to rehabilitate the border post between the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will further drive investment, development, tourism enhancement and trade between the two countries, besides improving the capacity of the border post and facilitating the movement of passengers between the two countries, while developing the services of the transport and passenger sector and upgrading the vehicles and truck lanes.
On the other hand, Musanada has revealed that a request for an additional budget for the project has been requested in respect of public facilities, landscaping and a passenger rest area, in addition to general maintenance works for the areas outside phase one of the project.
In turn, Suwaidan Rashed Al Dhaheri, Musanada’s CEO, explained that the project will involve rehabilitation of vehicle and truck lanes; police, customs and passport counters/checkpoints; as well as lighting posts, telecommunications and IT networks; in addition to water and sewerage networks; security and surveillance systems, external boundary walls, waiting areas, gardens and associated external works including landscaping works.
He added that Musanada deploys several vital technologies that will help enhance environmental sustainability, avoid the adverse effects of groundwater collection and help discharge storm water. This is in addition to enhancing the road capacity for additional weights considering the expected increase of traffic, besides fully accommodating traffic of vehicles and trucks, reducing traffic congestions, enhancing security and safety standards and significantly reducing accident rates.
