MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th December, 2018) New York City Fire Department said it was looking into a transformer incident amid reports about explosions and blue light in the Long Island City and Astoria areas.
"#FDNY is investigating a transformer incident in Queens at a @ConEdison location. The Department has received numerous calls for reports of explosions in the Long Island City and Astoria areas," New York City Fire Department wrote on Twitter.
The post emerged as media and social media users reported about the incident, publishing pictures of blue light flooding the New York sky.
Meanwhile, media reported, that Queens residents had experienced electricity flickering off in their homes, while a full blackout was seen at local LaGuardia Airport.
