Former New York City Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg is prepared to spend well over $100 million he put into his last political campaign and as much as needed if he decides to run for president of the United States in 2020, Bloomberg's top political advisor Howard Wolfson said on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th December, 2018) Former New York City Mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg is prepared to spend well over $100 million he put into his last political campaign and as much as needed if he decides to run for president of the United States in 2020, Bloomberg's top political advisor Howard Wolfson said on Thursday.

Wolfson told CNBC that should Bloomberg enter the US presidential race in 2020, he would spend "whatever is required."

During the November 6 congressional midterm elections, Bloomberg contributed more than $110 million to the campaigns of Democratic candidates.

Wolfson pointed out that Bloomberg never accepted outside money from political action committees and does not intend to change that if he chooses to run for US president.

Former US Vice President Joe Biden recently topped a survey of Democratic presidential hopefuls with a favorability rating of 53 percent among all voters and an 84 percent rating among Democratic voters, according to a recent poll by Quinnipiac University.

Bloomberg on the other hand had an overall unfavorable rating of 32 percent and 19 percent among Democrats.
