Khawaja brothers' judicial remand extended till Jan 5

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested to extend the judicial remand of the PML-N leaders

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 22nd December, 2018) The judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique has been extended till January 5.

PML-N MNA and former railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafique was taken to Lahore from Islamabad to produce him before the Accountability Court on Saturday in Paragon Housing scam.

The court held the hearing against Khawaja brothers in the case.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested to extend the judicial remand of the PML-N leaders for 15 more days, which was approved by the court.

The court ordered to again bring the accused on January 5.

An accountability court had on December 20 granted six-day transit remand of PML-N MNA Khawaja Saad Rafique to the NAB to enable him to attend the National Assembly session.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Azam passed the orders on an application, filed by the NAB for the purpose.

Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique were arrested by NAB on Dec 11 in Paragon Housing scam and the NAB had obtained their physical remand for investigation till Dec 22.

However, now Khawaja Saad Rafique would be produced before the court on Dec 27.

Khawaja Salman Rafique was involved in Paragon City scam only whereas Khawaja Saad Rafique was not only involved in Paragon scam but Railway and Ashiana scams as well, as per NAB report submitted in the court earlier.
