MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st December, 2018) US Special Counsel Robert Mueller probing Russia collusion claims may submit a final report on his findings to the attorney general as early as mid-February, local media said.
The sources who spoke to NBC news did not say whether the secret report would answer the main question: whether President Donald Trump's camp had conspired with Russia during the 2016 election campaign.
The outlet said that the investigator's spokesman, Peter Carr, had declined to comment. Sources also said the report could be delayed if Mueller sought to question Trump, with subpoena litigation potentially running into months.
Mueller was appointed as special counsel with the Justice Department in May last year. He has charged 33 people and convicted three Trump associates. The first sentencing in the probe - of former national security adviser Mike Flynn - was postponed this week.
