US Navy Awards Contract for Air, Missile Defense Radar Worth Up To $358Mln - Raytheon

The US Navy has inked a $114 million contract - with options that could make the contract worth $358 million - to support production and integration of the AN/SPY-6(V) air- and missile-defense radar, Raytheon announced in a press release on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th December, 2018) The US Navy has inked a $114 million contract - with options that could make the contract worth $358 million - to support production and integration of the AN/SPY-6(V) air- and missile-defense radar, Raytheon announced in a press release on Thursday.

"The work to be performed is the integration and production support for continued combat system integration and test, engineering, training, software and depot maintenance, and field engineering services, as well as the procurement of spare parts," the release said.

The contract is initially valued at $114,065,820, with options that if exercised, could bring the deal's cumulative value to $357,827,708, the release said.

The AN/SPY-6(V) is the US Navy's next generation air- and missile-defense radar, which is built with modular 8-cubic-feet units that are joined to create units of any size as needed to protect US Navy ships, according to Raytheon.
