Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced launch Naya Pakistan Housing to meet the housing shortage in the country by building five million houses in five years.
Many international companies are taking interest in the project while the government is also reviewing the offers of these companies.
The foreign companies have completed their initial consultation with the government in this regard. The government will investigate if the companies have been blacklisted.
Meanwhile, at least 41 bidders had shown their interest in Prime Minister Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme Project aimed to build 5 million houses for the poor.
The bidders have offered land for plots, apartments and houses in major cities of the country under the scheme.
The bidding companies have submitted their proposals to Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF).
The incumbent government is also negotiating with the banking sector and other financial institutions to provide interest free loans for construction of houses under Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
The duration for payment of loan would be 15-20 years and Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 would be received as instalment on monthly basis.
The complete framework would be finalized this month and construction of houses in three districts of Punjab under the scheme will start from January 1, 2019 as the layout plan in that regard has been completed.
