Russian Aerospace Forces Put Into Service 126 Jets, Helicopters in 2018 - Defense Minister

The Russian Aerospace Forces put into service 126 jets and helicopters in 2018, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th December, 2018) The Russian Aerospace Forces put into service 126 jets and helicopters in 2018, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Tuesday.

"In 2018, 126 modern jets and helicopters, 9 space vehicles, 120 air defense vehicles were delivered in the interests of the Russian Aerospace Forces. The share of the modern weapons in the air force has reached 64 percent, while in the Aerospace Forces reached the set level of 74 percent," Shoigu said at the Defense Ministry's extended panel meeting.

Russia is currently carrying out a large-scale rearmament program, announced in 2010, to achieve a 70-percent modernization of its military hardware by 2020.
