Different parks of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad were lacking adaptive swings or other physical activities for children with special needs, as they need these facilities for brain grooming or improving physical performances.

Public playgrounds must have a corner that's fun for every one and accessible for people who have disabilities, but physical disable children were deprived of different outdoor activities, which can amuse their brain with fresh and natural environment along with swings of their need.
Akhtar Watoo, a philanthropist said many of the NGOs or private companies were offering adaptive swings or other equipment for disable children, but it should be done on national level for equal access to all children.
He said that parks and playgrounds must have accessible wheelchair or should have a certain amount of special-needs equipment for special children.
The facilities for special children with any disability they must have access to playgrounds or parks with special facilities and equipment, he said.
He suggested that there must be accessible playground with equipment including adaptive swings, special ramps for wheelchair and other accessories ensuring that it is easy to use and minimize risks for children as they play.
He demanded of quarter concerned to pay heed toward this issue for bringing disable children into mainstream of the society.
When contacted to official of Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Irfan told APP that incumbent government was committed to providing best facilities to handicap children, adding that CDA has given instruction to concerned department to make plan for handicap children's facilities in park to bring them to social fabric.
He further said that the implementation will be done quickly as authority preparing comprehensive plan in this regard.
"To ensure proper or superlative facilities for handicap, our department is committed to work on it", he said.
