Russian, Indian Pilots to Bomb Ground Targets During Aviaindra Drills - Defense Ministry

Russian and Indian pilots will carry out exercises on bombing ground targets in the framework of the final phase of the joint Aviaindra 2018 exercise in India's Jodhpur airbase, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.<

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th December, 2018) Russian and Indian pilots will carry out exercises on bombing ground targets in the framework of the final phase of the joint Aviaindra 2018 exercise in India's Jodhpur airbase, the Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday.

"During the first flight shift, the joint crews of fighters will perform practical exercises on bombing ground targets at the training range, the crews of transport aircraft will practice landing on a shorter airstrip. Crews of transport and attack helicopters will master landing on unprepared ground, as well as getting down with a rope from hanging helicopter," the ministry said.

The final phase of Aviaindra 2018 drills will last until December 21.

On November 18-28, the two countries held Indra 2018 drills in India's northern Uttar Pradesh state, involving around 500 Indian and Russian troops.

The first joint Indian-Russian exercises of this type took place in 2014.
