DTO Bahawalpur Seeks Implementation Of Traffic Rules

District Traffic Officer Bahawalpur has urged the management of gasoline stations not to provide patrol and diesel to vehicles and motorcycles, of them riders did not abide by traffic rules.
In a statement issued here, District Traffic Officer, Zahid Majeed Chaudhary said despite the orders issued by the Punjab government, a number of people neither wear helmet while driving motorcycle, nor getting side mirrors installed on their vehicles.
He said DIG (Traffic) Punjab based in Lahore had issued directives that gasoline stations should be requested not to provide fuel to motorcyclists, not wearing helmets.
"If owners of gasoline stations extend their cooperation to traffic police in this regard, motorcyclists will be forced to wear helmets while driving away a bike," he said.
He said the traffic rules were made for safety of people and added that incidents of road accidents could not happen if people abide by traffic rules.
He also underlined the need that people should get side mirrors installed on their vehicles.
He said that traffic police had been continuing awareness campaign regarding traffic laws in Bahawalpur district.
