Outstanding Issues Remain as Parties Work Towards Katowice Agreement - COP24 President

The negotiators of the Katowice Agreement are still working to solve outstanding issues, Michal Kurtyka, a state secretary in Poland's Ministry of Energy and president of COP24, said at a press conference on Friday.

KATOWICE (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th December, 2018) The negotiators of the Katowice Agreement are still working to solve outstanding issues, Michal Kurtyka, a state secretary in Poland's Ministry of Energy and president of COP24, said at a press conference on Friday.

"All parties with the support of the presidency are working very hard right now to solve the outstanding issues and to find a balanced package here in Katowice," Kurtyka said.

The eighth plenary session of the COP24 has been postponed since noon on Friday and has yet to take place.

Although a draft agreement was reached on Thursday evening, the final agreement has yet to be produced.

The 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) kicked off in Poland's Katowice on December 2 and was going to end later on Friday.
