Plans to establish the production of Kalashnikov rifles and Ka-226T helicopters in India were discussed during a session of the Russia-India intergovernmental commission on defense industry cooperation, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin said Thursday.
NEW DELHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th December, 2018) Plans to establish the production of Kalashnikov rifles and Ka-226T helicopters in India were discussed during a session of the Russia-India intergovernmental commission on defense industry cooperation, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Col. Gen. Alexander Fomin said Thursday."We discussed the preparation of the program of defense industry cooperation until 2030, and the organization of production of Ka-226T helicopters in India ... We reviewed in detail the steps to establish the production of Kalashnikov rifles in India in 2019 ... We paid close attention to the quality of after-sales service," Fomin told reporters after the session.
The meeting was chaired by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Indian Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
