Netanyahu Orders to Deploy Troops to West Bank After Killing of 2 IDF Servicemen

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered on Thursday to deploy additional troops to the West Bank and to establish roadblocks after the killing of two soldiers during an attack by Palestinian militants.

TEL AVIV (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th December, 2018) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered on Thursday to deploy additional troops to the West Bank and to establish roadblocks after the killing of two soldiers during an attack by Palestinian militants.

The office of the prime minister, who also holds the post of defense minister, has published a list of instructions to the military, who are conducting an extensive search for attackers and have already blocked Ramallah, the de-facto capital of the Palestinian National Administration (PNA).

"To expand the presence of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Judea and Samaria [Israeli name of the West Bank] ... increase protection of highways and install roadblocks on the roads," the press release said.

Netanyahu also ordered to speed up the demolition of terrorists' houses, reducing the preparation time to 48 hours and expanding the use of administrative arrests to activists of the Palestinian movement Hamas without bringing charges and for an indefinite period.

Earlier in the day, two IDF servicemen were killed in the shooting attack by Palestinians near a stop at 60th roadway, near Givat Asaf crossing north of Jerusalem.

The shooting occurred not far from Israeli settlement Ofra, where Palestinian militants injured seven Israelis, having opened fire at them, last week.

Last night, Israeli military killed two Palestinians in the West Bank suspected of involvement in attacks near Ofra and Barkan industrial zone, where two Israelis were killed on October 7.
