City Police Lahore Provide Complete Security During By-election In PP-168

The City Police Lahore ensured foolproof security arrangements and maintained peace in PP-168 constituency during the by-election on Thursday.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) code of conduct was enforced in letter and spirit by Lahore Police as no one was allowed to violate the law and create any mishap.
As many as 3,000 police personnel were deployed at all polling stations and adjacent areas to provide security to voters. As many as 22 polling stations were declared sensitive on the day.
Lahore police had also sought surety bonds from candidates for the by-election and there was a strict ban, imposed on display of weapons.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore BA Nasir and DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Waqas Nazir also visited sensitive polling stations of constituency PP-168 early in the morning and reviewed the security arrangements at the polling stations.
DIG Operations, while briefing the CCPO, said that the polling stations were divided into A, B and C categories according to their sensitivity and police officers and officials were deployed on different entrance points around the polling stations to ensure checking of all voters. A three-layer security plan was devised by the Lahore Police atthese polling stations.
