Seminar Held To Mark World Health Day

In connection with World Health Day, an awareness seminar was held under the auspices of volunteering organization for improvement of community education and health with the cooperation of Human Resource Development network (HRD) Thursday.
Addressing on the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr. Nosheen Hamid as chief guest highlighted the initiatives adopted by the government to improve health delivery system in the country besides providing quality medical treatment facilities in all public sector hospitals both in rural and urban areas.
She emphasized the need on adaptation of precautionary measures to avoid ailments and said that the provision of health facilities to the people is the topmost priority of his government.
Delivering presentation on prevention of heart diseases, the consultant Cardiologist, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Dr.
Mehdi Hassan Raja, underlined the need of avoiding junk food, oily intakes, cold drinks, smoking and other similar activities which can cause heart diseases.
He said that it was alarming that young generation is becoming heart patients due to unhealthy life style and smoking. He asked for regular clinical examination of sugar and blood pressure which can cause heart attack.
Chief Executive Officer VOICEH Ms. Sumaira Hina Mehdi briefed about the performance and achievements of voluntary organization for the improvement of community in education and health.
The seminar was attended by medical professionals, students, civil society organizations and people from cross sections of society.
