KP Treasury, Opposition Join Hands For Receipt Of Net-hydel Profit

Those who attended were included Opposition Leader, Akram Khan Durrani, Sardar Mohammad Yousaf, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman, Sher Azam Wazir, Sardar Hussain Babak, Inayatullah Khan and Mian Nisar Gul.

During the meeting, the Advisor to KP CM on Energy, Himayatullah Khan briefed the parliamentary leaders regarding net hydel profit on the production of electricity to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The members were also briefed on the AGN Qazi Formula evolved in 1986, which was later also adopted by the Council of Common Interest (CCI).

Under the formula a clear procedure was evolved on hydel power generation to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,which was later ignored by the upcoming Federal government and thus the province was deprived of a huge profit in the head.

On this occasion, all parliamentary leaders expressed a joint resolve that they will raise the just rights of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and bringing of the net profit on hydel power generation which is about Rs.230 billion to the province on all forums. The receiving of the fund, they said will change the fate of the province.

The Speaker KP Assembly, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani announced that on Monday (December 17, 2018), the opposition and treasury benches will present a joint resolution for getting just right of net hydel profit for the province in the provincial assembly.

Besides, the problem will also be taken up in a meeting with the Prime MinisterImran Khan.
